Acceptable Use Policy
Computer Use and Data Management
Uplift’s
electronic communications systems, including its network
access to the internet, is primarily for administrative and
instructional purposes. Limited personal
use of the system is permitted if the use:
- Imposes no tangible
cost to Uplift or its schools
- Does not unduly
burden Uplift’s computer or network resources
- Has no adverse effect
on job performance or on a student’s academic performance.
Electronic
mail transmissions and other use of the electronic communications systems are
not confidential and can be monitored at any time to ensure appropriate use.
Employees
who are authorized to use the systems are required to abide by the provisions
of Uplift’s communications systems policy and administrative procedures. Failure to do so can result in suspension or
termination of privileges and may lead to disciplinary action. Employees with questions about computer use
and data management should contact the Uplift Technology Department.
Computer Software
Uplift
regulates employees' use of its computer software. No
employee may duplicate
any licensed software or related documentation for use, either on Uplift premises or elsewhere, unless expressly
authorized to do so by written agreement with the licensor. Licensed software may not be provided to
anyone outside Uplift. The illegal
duplication of software may result in the filing of criminal copyright charges
by the owners of the copyrights and can subject both the employee and Uplift to
liability.
All software that Uplift acquires must be purchased by or with the approval of the
Uplift Technology Department. Upon
delivery, all software must be registered properly by and installed by Uplift
Technology. Personal software may not be loaded on Uplift computers without
approval from Uplift Technology.
