When will Uplift Schools begin accepting applications?
All Uplift School begin accepting applications on November 1, 2013.  APPLICATIONS ARE ACCEPTED AT  ANYTIME  PRIOR TO THE LOTTERY DEADLINE.    Applications are accepted after the lottery deadline, but if all available openings were taken during the lottery, your application will immediately go to the wait list. 

Do I have to apply online?

Yes. We are only accepting ONLINE applications for the 2013-2014 year.   

Is anyone eligible to apply and attend an Uplift School?

In order to apply to an Uplift School, you must live within the schools geographic boundaries. Please contact the school you are applying to and ask to speak to the Lottery Coordinator. 

What grades are available at your school?

Can I apply my child to multiple schools?

Yes. You can apply to more than 1 school. In the application you will be given the opportunity to enter up to 4 choices. 

Can I apply for the 2012-13 (current) school year?

The following schools are accepting paper applications for the 2012-2013 school year:  Hampton Preparatory, Infinity Preparatory, Laureate Preparatory, Meridian Preparatory, Mighty Preparatory,Pinnacle Preparatory and Summit International Preparatory. You can pick up a paper application at the school

How is the lottery conducted?

All Uplift Education schools conduct a “name-blind” lottery (random drawing) to fill open enrollment spaces if more applications are received than the number of available spaces.

Do siblings receive preference in the lottery?

An applicant who has a sibling currently attending this school will have priority in the lottery, provided an application is completed and received within the deadline.

Please note, if you are applying multiple children to our school, each child will need their own application.

If my student is accepted, what happens next?

Students accepted through the lottery will be posted on this website and on the schools windows (if you have indicated that preference).  The school will also mail you information regarding the enrollment process, informational/admission meetings and enrollment documents to be completed.

If my student is placed on a waiting list, what does that mean?

If your student has been placed on awaiting list, it means that they were not selected in the lottery but that you may be contacted if a space becomes available at a later date. You will receive a postcard in the mail approximately 3 weeks after the lottery if your student is placed on a waiting list.

Waiting lists are established when our school receives more applicants for a given grade than we have space available.  In the event that a spot becomes available, students on the wait list will be offered admission. 

What should I do if my student is not selected in the lottery?

We hope you will continue to apply to our school in future years. You might also try checking with other Uplift Education schools to see if they have space available in your student’s grade.   Please go to www.uplifteducation.org to see a listing of all of our schools.
